Esse quam videri

In order to say something beautifully, you must first have something beautiful to say.

Put wind in your sails, walk to your talk, action behind your faith, Joel.

Sure, sometimes you may get away with an elegantly written paper that really says nothing at all. And sometimes you may fool yourself and others, and think you do God too, when you "play church." You may think that telling someone you'll pray for them and then not praying is ok.

WRONG.

Faith without works is dead. God so loved that He gave... He backed up His claims with graphic action on the cross.
I'm trying to follow Christ, so it's probably a good idea for me to try and at least imitate what He does - being real. What does that mean for me? I think it means at least 2 things:
  1. Admit when I mess up. Don't waste valuable resources trying to cover up. Just bring it out into the light so it can be worked on.
  2. Make sure that I have real things to say, beautiful things to say when I want to say something beautifully. This will require (gasp! horrors!) planning.
Put wind in your sails, yeh? Aight, time to go to bed then. Wake up in the morning and love God so much that I give and spend the morning with Him - back up my claim that I love Him.

*scurries off and dives into bed*

p.s. in case you were wondering what the funky title meant, esse quam videri is Latin for "to be, rather than appear."

Spending the morning with God is an awesome plan. *stands and applauds*
